The Prothesia project wins the third edition of the Mexico everis Award

The three entrepreneurs who run Prothesia will receive professional business advice from everis mentors and executives, and an economic endowment of one million pesos to strengthen and launch their project.

everis foundation and everis NTT Mexico, a multinational business and technology consulting firm, have announced the winner of the third edition of the Mexico everis Award: Prothesia, an initiative aimed at the digital production of prostheses and orthoses.

This acknowledgement consists of professional business advice from everis mentors and executives, as well as an endowment of $1,000,000 pesos to strengthen and launch their project. Besides, the winners will pass to the international final of the everis Awards, to be held in Madrid during the everis-talent-week, days for conferences, seminars and events with investors dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship. The Mexican winner will compete for an additional €60,000 with national winners from 9 other countries in Europe and Latin America.

The jury acknowledged Prothesia for being a platform that seeks to transform the manufacturing of orthoses and prostheses in an innovative way. Using a mobile application and 3D printing technology, Prothesia implements a digital process in the technique applied by prosthetists, helping them to increase by a factor of 10x the number of medical devices they can create. Other advantages also refer to the final use of the orthosis or prosthesis, as the platform scans, designs and prints customized devices that are immediately adapted to patients.

More than 450 projects were received, all of them in the areas of Industrial Technologies, New Business Models in the Digital Economy, and Biotechnology and Health. Nine finalists were selected and presented to the jury led by Luis Téllez, president of everis in Mexico. The jury consisted of renowned executives from different sectors, such as telecommunications and banking, academia, media, among others with extensive experience in entrepreneurship.

Participation in the Open Innovation Contest of NTT DATA

Once again this year, everis foundation offers the finalists projects the possibility of participating in the Open Innovation Contest, an initiative of NTT DATA, the Japanese subsidiary to which everis belongs.

As a novelty, this year the Global everis Award will be presented during the everis‑talent‑week, a forum dedicated to promote entrepreneurship through different activities such as seminars, conferences and round tables linked to innovation and entrepreneurship, among others.
