The startup Geckomatics wins the everis Award Belgium 2019

The first edition of the Belgian edition of the Award concludes with a winning project for the creation and modification of geospatial information.

The first edition of the everis Award Belgium, a call promoted by everis Foundation and everis, concludes with a winning project: Geckomatics, a startup that provides companies with the necessary tools to create and modify geospatial information through Artificial Intelligence, mobile mapping and high quality data analysis at a reasonable price.

In addition to obtaining € 20,000, Geckomatics will pass to the international final of the everis Awards to be held in Madrid in the last week of November, where the project will be competing for the final prize of € 60,000 against the winners of 9 other national competitions.

These have been the finalist projects of the Belgian call:

  • Startup that uses the power of GPS environments for both indoor and outdoor locations.
  • Nextbook: Online and interactive platform that aims to facilitate student learning as well as the educational work of teachers through the publication of academic texts and the possibility of having conversations with other web users.

Omar Mohout, Professor at the University of Antwerp (Belgium), technological entrepreneur and author of numerous books on technology, took part as speaker at the final event, where he provided information about the trends of new companies and the different levels of maturity, the markets in which they are found and the new business models.

Participation in the Open Innovation Contest of NTT DATA

Once again this year, everis foundation offers semifinalist projects the possibility of participating in the Open Innovation Contest, an initiative of NTT DATA, the Japanese subsidiary to which everis belongs.

As a novelty, this year the Global everis Award will be presented during the everis‑talent‑week, a forum dedicated to promote entrepreneurship through different activities such as seminars, conferences and round tables linked to innovation and entrepreneurship, among others.
